My Skincare Essentials

When it comes to skincare, I'm not the best at knowing what I should and shouldn't do. To be honest its taken a long time for me to get an actual routine and stick to it; but now I have everything under control (kind of), I find my skin looks clearer and in generally better condition. These products work for me, but as everyone has different skin types, they wont suit everyone. However, I absolutely love how well these products work for me!

Cleansing

This stuff is AMAZING! previously I had been using makeup wipes to cleanse and remove my makeup, but they're not the best thing for your face. After my friend recommended Micellar water, it has changed my life! It says its supposed to "remove makeup, soothe and hydrate the face, eye area, and lips, in 1 step without rinsing."  which I thought was a lot to live up to. However, it does the job perfectly. I use this with a cotton pad and wipe all over my face and eyes; it gets rid f my makeup so easily and doesn't dry out my face.

I came across this product when I received it as a free sample in a magazine. When I tried it out, I was a little skeptical, as face masks normally cause me to go red and blotchy. However after I tried this, I knew I'd be buying more of this in the future. I found the product to be gentle on my face but strong enough to do the job! Its "designed to cleanse, exfoliate and brighten skin."  which it does, and all the ingredients are all natural (98% apparently) making it even better.

Clinique is a little pricey, but by god does it work. I would never normally buy Clinique; being scared off by the price. However, after receiving these products as a Christmas present, I know why people love it.
On the left is the"clarifying lotion" which "de-flakes to reveal clearer skin." I only use this product twice a week at the most, but it is the game changer when you put on makeup. It seriously smooths out your skin making putting on moisturiser and makeup so much easier!
The product in the middle is the new "Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush." When used in combination with the face soap it helps exfoliate and clean deep within the pores. I use this once or twice a week and I find it has helped to clear up my skin so much.
The product on the end is the"liquid facial soap" which is perfect for my skin. I have dry-combination skin and often find products that help my dry areas make the oily areas worse. This product is "for the needs of skin dry in the cheeks, comfortable to oily in the t zone."  Which matches my skin type perfectly.

Spots/Acne

Witch Hazel naturally cleanses, tones and soothes. With this product it does all of this, whilst reducing the appearance of spots and helps prevent future breakouts. When I found out about the properties of Witch Hazel I was excited to try it out. This product helps as a quick and foolproof way to control those pesky spots.

This is an old favorite of mine. I have been purchasing this product and others from the Therapeutics range for a few years now and they are AMAZING! This product in particular is a wonder serum for spots. All you do is apply a tiny amount onto the spot and like magic its gone within a day! The redness and swelling of the spot reduces in a few hours, I find, but the actual spot will clear up within a day, or if you apply this before bed it will clear overnight! I swear by this product and urge anyone who suffers from bad spots/acne to get this!

Moisturiser

The "dramatically different moisturising lotion+" by Clinique is a really effective moisturiser for very dry to dry combination skin. Since I started using this I have found my makeup is going on a lot better. The texture is rather thick but it doesn't feel heavy when soaking into the skin, but if you don't like thick moisturisers then I would definitely stay away from this product.

Overall, these products work for me and its taken a while for me to be happy with my skincare products. If you have anything you think is worth recommending feel free to leave a comment, or likewise if you decide to try any of these products out yourself.

Going to see The 1975...Again!

When you admire a band, it’s always a beautiful thing to see them gain success. I've been following The 1975 for a few years now, and ever since I was first introduced to them, by the power of social media, I have been hooked! Now they're growing in popularity, even gaining a number one album!

Last year I made a blog post about seeing them for the first time and they have amazed me AGAIN. Since releasing their new album 'i like it when you sleep, for you are beautiful yet so unaware' I was eager to hear their material in person.

They never fail to amaze me! The combination of creative lyrics and enchanting music, makes for an unforgettable experience. I cant even choose a favorite off their album, they're all that good! However, a definite favorite of the night must go to ' Loving Someone' , the sound coming off the stage accompanied by the spectacular light show made the night all the more fabulous!

OOTD:Concerts

It's always the case. You're at a gig, the room starts to fill up, it gets ridiculously hot, and you wish you hadn't put on those layers. Even though being in a mass of sweaty bodies is part of the experience (in my opinion), it's best to prevent yourself being too hot and bothered.
I've been going to gigs for 4 years now, so I like to consider myself a pro at this point. I have an outfit that always proves best when going to gigs, because it's really comfy and (the crucial bit) keeps you cool!

A jacket is handy for waiting in line outside and keeping money etc. but when I get into the venue I usually just wrap it round my waist so it's out of the way. Alternatively, most venues have storage to keep your things in until the gig ends.

Denim Jacket- White Rabbit Exchange (ASOS Marketplace)
Ring on middle finger- Pandora

P.s : I have a few concerts coming up soon, which I will be posting about on here. Follow me on my links to keep posted of when I upload new stuff!

NARS Foundation Review

I have recently bought my first NARS foundation! I've wanted to treat myself, to an expensive foundation, for a while now, because I found the drugstore brands just weren't cutting it. I had done a lot of research on the products already out there and, based on reviews and recommendations for my skin type, I decided to delve into the world of NARS.

So, I took a trip to the NARS counter in Selfridges, The Trafford centre. As soon as I got there, the woman couldn't have been more helpful. She helped me pick out the perfect product and shade for my face. She told me, as I have combination skin, I would be better off using the 'All Day Luminous Weightless' foundation, rather than the typical bloggers favourite 'Sheer Glow'.
I'm in love! It's so easy to put on and it literally feels like you have nothing on your skin. Eventhough it's a full coverage foundation, it doesn't feel cakey and it doesn't go patchy halfway through the day.

I couldn't say how long the bottle lasts as I've only had it for a few weeks. However, I literally only use a grape sized amount on my entire face, so I think it's going to last a while. The consistency is rather watery, which can make it a turn off for most people; It nearly was for me, as I'm used to more creamier foundations. Nevertheless, when I put it on my face, it felt seamless!
This particular foundation is priced at £32, which is a little pricy, but it's totally worth it! If you aren't prepared to pay that much, I've listed some alternatives that would work just as well if you have oily/combination skin like me.
For the mean time this is my view on NARS, however, I'm keen to see how my opinion will differ when I get to try more of their products.

The alternatives:

•Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
•LOreal Paris True Match Minerals Foundation
•Rimmel stay matte foundation

An ASOS love affair.

When it comes to fashion, my style doesn't always have one label. I've recently been loving a very minimal and casual style, with college leaving me little time to choose a killer outfit. Since starting college, my favorite thing to do is throw on a pair of jeans or leggings and a comfy top, then a few simple pieces of jewelry.
However, after searching the web, I have found ASOS that have some great minimal and key pieces that will transform your wardrobe ; providing outfits to carry you through the seasons!

Firstly, since it's currently winter, I love wearing a great statement jumper. I find it completely transforms an otherwise dreary outfit, seeming like you have spent hours putting it together when in fact, you've thrown it on after realizing you only have 5 minuets to catch your bus. When I looked through ASOS I found tonnes of great jumpers suitable for everyone's budget. I've picked out some that are defiantly worth the investment, as I believe they will go well with most things in my wardrobe.

Secondly, I have noticed, as of late, there have been a lot of people wearing jumpsuits. I think these are a great idea for 'on the run' style as they are literally so easy to just throw on. Also, since they're so versatile, you could go smart and wear it with a plain chiffon shirt, a fedora and some statement boots. Or, you could dress it down by putting on an old band-tee and a pair of Doc Martins. Here, I have chosen some of my favorite jumpsuits, from their minimalist range.

Bottoms! No, I'm not being rude...when putting an outfit together, I like to start with the bottom half (skirts, jeans, leggings etc). I find it easier to get a staple item and work around that. Lately, I have been loving mom and skinny jeans paired with a slouchy top or jumper. Alternatively, a buttoned front midi skirt, a crop top and a statement coat, to get a comfy, yet, put together look. I find this style is perfect to carry over the seasons, by swapping a few items to suit the climate.

Finally...Shoes! I have managed to get my love for shoes under control...for now. But who am I kidding, every girl needs a great pair of killer footwear (or ten). I like to tell myself that, by wearing a pair of kick-ass boots, it will revamp any outfit. This is true...but it's normally said right before I buy "just one more pair". ASOS, again, have some great buys that will last even through to A/W 2017.
